Northwestern Medicine Prentice Women’s Hospital recently unveiled the portrait of Tacoma McKnight, ’81 BS, ’83 MD (HPME), ’87 GME, in a special ceremony. The second Black woman to become an Obstetrics & Gynecology resident at Prentice Women's Hospital, McKnight went on to become the first Black woman to join the faculty at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and later served as the inaugural associate dean for the Office of Diversity & Inclusion (formerly known as the Minority and Cultural Affairs Office). Her legacy now graces the halls of the hospital, symbolizing progress and dedication to diversity in medicine.

McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University held its fourth annual Health Equity Week February 26 to March 1. The week featured a wide range of sessions designed to foster expert-level discussions on healthcare disparities and brainstorm solutions to promote health equity. The event was open to all members of the community, emphasizing inclusivity and collaboration in tackling crucial healthcare challenges.
