February 2025 will mark 10 years since we recalibrated the Office of Diversity & Inclusion and began a journey not only to change the face of medicine but to change the culture here at Feinberg School of Medicine. Culture change is no easy feat.

Northwestern Medicine Welcomes Bronzeville Advanced Outpatient Care Center

As part of its focus on equity, Northwestern Medicine will be erecting a 120,000-square-foot advanced outpatient care center on the South Side of Chicago in the Bronzeville neighborhood in September 2025.

Fall Lyceum with Health Equity Leader, Thomas LaVeist, PhD

Earlier this month, the Office of Diversity & Inclusion welcomed Thomas LaVeist, PhD, dean of the Tulane University Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and Weatherhead Presidential Chair in Health Equity to present at their Lyceum Speaker Series. LaVeist is an award-winning research scientist and the author of six books, including Minority Population and Health: An Introduction to Health Disparities in the U.S., the first textbook on health disparities. He is also the director and executive producer of The Skin You’re In, a documentary series about racial inequalities in healthcare.

Health Equity Poster Session

The Office of Diversity & Inclusion held its inaugural health equity poster session which showcased over 65 posters focusing on innovative research, interventions and policies aimed at reducing health disparities and promoting equitable healthcare for all populations.

Resource for Faculty and Staff: Supporting Student Programs

The Office of Diversity & Inclusion has launched a central site for faculty and staff to access information on supporting student programs. The site provides comprehensive details on each program, ways to offer support, key data and more. Access to the page requires a request, which will be granted within 24 hours.
