In the wilderness, David Victorson, PhD, assistant professor in medical social sciences, is helping young adult cancer survivors connect with themselves, the natural world, and others who survived the disease at a time when most people are at their healthiest.

In a one-week span, Gina Ferguson, RN, heart transplant coordinator at Northwestern Memorial, traveled to Washington, D.C., to lobby for extended Medicare coverage of immunosuppressant medications for transplant patients and donated one of her kidneys to her father.
