Where is your hometown?
I was born and raised in sweet home Chicago. I currently live in the western suburbs with my husband, two wonderful kids and our two cats.
What led you to Northwestern?
I was drawn to Northwestern because of its reputation for academic excellence and cutting-edge research. My background in human resources, accounting and health systems management made Northwestern an ideal match. It has opened doors to various roles in administrative operations, finance and research administration.
What are you currently working on?
I was recently promoted to associate department administrator in the Department of Surgery. In this role, I have the privilege of working alongside Heather Moore, our department administrator, and Daniela Ladner, MD, MPH, our vice chair of research and innovation. Together, we are spearheading several ongoing and future initiatives aimed at enhancing our research infrastructure to support high-volume, high-quality research. Currently, we are developing a clinical research core to assist our faculty with clinical trials management. Additionally, we are refining our research and financial administration processes to identify best practices and create a more efficient and effective system.
How does your work support the research enterprise at Feinberg?
I am fortunate to lead an outstanding team that supports our faculty in pre- and post-award activities, financial management and administrative duties. This allows our faculty to focus on their research. Our team manages everything from proposal submissions to grant closeout, financial reporting, budget projections, payroll management, effort reporting and much more.
Why do you enjoy working at Northwestern?
Working with distinguished faculty at the forefront of groundbreaking research is incredibly rewarding. Equally fulfilling is being part of a community that fosters collaboration. The Northwestern community is truly one of a kind. Throughout my career, I’ve worked at various academic medical centers, but I always find my way back to Northwestern because it feels like home. The opportunities and support I’ve received here have greatly contributed to my professional and personal growth. I have had many wonderful mentors, colleagues and friends who have supported me throughout my journey, making every step feel meaningful and memorable.
