Early Decision

For applicants who have considered all of their options and have decided that Northwestern University is their top choice, Early Decision may be a great option.  Although PTCAS no longer administers the Early Decision application process, Northwestern University still has an Early Decision process in place.

Early Decision Process

Complete the PTCAS online application and submit all supporting documents at www.ptcas.org, including:

  1. Complete Northwestern’s Early Decision Supplemental Application and submit fee.
  2. Transcripts from all Colleges and Universities listed on your application
  3. 3 letters of recommendation
  4. Physical Therapy Observation Hours (volunteer or paid)
  5. Essays
  6. Prerequisite information

Deadline

PTCAS will open on June 17th to begin completing applications and will allow application submission starting July 1st. The Early Decision deadline for Northwestern is August 1st. You must complete the PTCAS application and arrange for your transcripts to be received by PTCAS by this date. If application fees or transcripts arrive after August 1st, your application will be considered with our regular rolling admissions process.

Admissions Status

Early decisions will be sent no later than September 15th. Early Decision applicants may be offered early admission, denied early admission, or returned to regular applicant status, for further review. If you are offered admission as an Early Decision applicant, we expect that you will be attending Northwestern University.

Early Decision Scholarships

Applicants who have applied and been admitted under the Early Decision application process have the opportunity to apply for Early Decision scholarships. Additional information about this and other scholarships can be found at: https://www.feinberg.northwestern.edu/sites/pthms/our-programs/dpt/admissions/tuition-scholarships.html
