Graduate Trainees
Graduate students are recruited through the Driskill Graduate Program, Interdepartmental Neuroscience PhD Program and the Medical Scientist Training Program. Individual faculty in CDB with additional appointments also recruit students from other programs including Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. After brief rotations, they select the laboratory of a faculty member to perform their research. From day one of entering our department, trainees are engaged in several activities to advance their professional development and broaden their scientific skills.
Driskill Graduate Program
The Walter S. and Lucienne Driskill Graduate Program in Life Sciences (DGP) is a comprehensive, interdisciplinary PhD program that trains students in biomedical sciences while giving them the flexibility to pursue a variety of research interests and dual degrees.
Interdepartmental Neuroscience PhD Program
The highly interdisciplinary and collaborative Northwestern University Interdepartmental Neuroscience (NUIN) PhD program offers world-class, advanced training in neuroscience.
Medical Scientist Training Program
The Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) is a MD-PhD dual-degree program that emphasizes building both clinical and research skills and challenging, individualized training.
