Our residency is based in the Streeterville neighborhood of Chicago along the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan. No matter your extracurricular interests — sports, art, music, theater, fitness, food — there are endless options in Chicago.
Training Sites
Ophthalmology interns and residents rotate through three institutions:
Lavin Family Pavilion
- Located in the heart of Chicago’s Magnificent Mile
- Most Northwestern-based rotations occur here
- The Sorrel Rosin Eye Center is on the 15th floor
Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago
- On Northwestern’s downtown campus
- Home base for pediatric ophthalmology
- A 23-story facility with 288 single-patient rooms
Jesse Brown Veterans Affairs Medical Center
- Located 2 miles west of downtown
- Part of Chicago’s large West Side medical district
- There are rotations here during each year of training
