Pediatric Dermatology

I am immensely proud of the division we have developed and of our ability to provide top-notch clinical care and medical education while also being at the forefront of pediatric dermatology research, scholarly activity and patient advocacy.”

Patient Care

The Division of Pediatric Dermatology at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago offers patients and their families the latest in diagnosis and treatment of all pediatric skin conditions, including medical and surgical therapies and laser therapy.  With eight faculty and one nurse practitioner, our pediatric dermatology team is one of the largest, most diverse and best-recognized in the world.

Our pediatric dermatologists offer comprehensive dermatologic care for pediatric skin conditions, ranging from common (ie eczema, acne, psoriasis and birthmarks) to rare. In addition to general pediatric dermatology clinics, our faculty provide expert care in specialty clinics for patients with vascular anomalies (such as vascular malformations and infantile hemangiomas), onco-dermatological issues (such as side effects or disorders related to chemotherapies, other targeted medical treatments, and stem cell/bone marrow transplantation), pigmented skin lesions (such as congenital nevi, atypical moles, and melanoma), and rheumatologic conditions of the skin.  Ongoing research in the Division of Pediatric Dermatology allows our faculty to provide cutting-edge, evidence-based care for our patients.

Education

We offer medical students, residents and fellows a well-rounded education in pediatric dermatology. The division accepts medical students and resident trainees from Pediatrics and Dermatology at Feinberg, as well as outside programs on an as-available basis. The Division of Pediatric Dermatology also runs the very well-regarded fellowship program in Pediatric Dermatology, accepting two fellows in our ACGME-accredited fellowship and two international "visiting scholars" per year. We offer occasional advanced training opportunities for board-eligible/board-certified pediatricians, as well.
