Why did you choose to attend Northwestern MSTP?
I chose Northwestern MSTP because this was the program and city that I felt I would thrive in. I felt strongly supported in my research interests, I appreciated Feinberg’s commitment to longitudinal clinical experiences, and I fell in love with Chicago.
Tell us what you’ve enjoyed most about your current phase in the program.
I have enjoyed learning new things about myself as a person and a student through pre-clinical medical school years. I have developed new strategies for studying and time management, as well as for adapting to new situations and environments. I’m looking forward to further developing these skills and adapting to the next phase when I transition to my PhD.
Tell us what you've enjoyed most about your previous phase in the program.
I participated in the pre-matriculation program through the Feinberg Office of Diversity & Inclusion, which allowed me to meet some of my MD peers before school even started. It was so nice to get to know people and Feinberg before classes began. I felt like part of the MSTP family when I attended my first MSTP retreat – being surrounded by people from all years in the program was really special, and I felt like I belonged.
What do you enjoy most about living in Chicago?
I love exploring all the diverse neighborhoods that Chicago has to offer. I’m also a big foodie and there is no shortage of new and exciting restaurants to try here. Chicago is an amazing food city!
