The Student Handbook is revised annually and contains the most up-to-date information on MSTP policies and procedures.

NRSA Application Resources

The MSTP Office has collected a number of resources to assist students during the grant application process. Access to these materials must be requested through the MSTP Office and is limited to current MSTP students.

Award Applications and Reimbursements

Expense Reimbursement Form

The MSTP reimburses students for a number of training-related expenses, including registration for the USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 exams, vision and dental insurance, and student-organized events. These expenses can be submitted to the MSTP Office for reimbursement using this form.

MSTP Travel Grant Application

The Travel Grant provides MSTP students with up to $500 to offset the cost of attending conferences and other professional development activities related to their research and training at Northwestern. Students may apply for this award annually. Students in the graduate phase of training should simultaneously apply for the TGS Travel Grant.

MSTP Heller Award Application

This one-time award provides up to $2500 in financial support to students to help them participate in special courses, workshops, major conferences, or other educational activities that further their professional development.

NRSA Bonus Award Application

All MSTP students are required to submit an application for an NRSA F30 or F31 grant during the first or second year of graduate school. Students receive a small monetary bonus from the MSTP for submitting an application and an additional larger bonus for a successful application.
