Why did you choose to attend Northwestern MSTP?
I knew, as soon as I visited Northwestern, I would be well supported not only by the MSTP program but the medical school throughout my training, and this has been absolutely correct.
Tell us what you've enjoyed most about your current phase in the program.
As a graduate student currently finishing up my time in the lab, I love the amount of independence and expertise I have developed within my field and studies. It's so exciting to be able to create, execute and interpret experiments independently that directly feed not only into my thesis studies, specifically, but the scientific field as whole.
What do you enjoy most about living in Chicago?
As a loud and proud Midwesterner with a somewhat rural upbringing, I can't say living in Chicago was ever on my bucket list. Yet, as I look around and consider so many wonderful friends I've made and the things I've been able to experience, this city has truly become a place I'm happy to call my home.
