The aspirational vision of the Osher Center for Integrative Health at Northwestern University is that integrative medicine informs healthcare policy and the provision of patient care to optimize health, prevent chronic disease and promote universal wellness.
The Osher Center for Integrative Health at Northwestern University is committed to providing leadership in integrative medicine that fosters whole-person healthcare through innovative and impactful education, research and advocacy. Osher-NU’s approach to meeting its mission is driven by the following principles, which guide all aspects of organizational decision making and resource allocation:
- Model collaboration that is transparent and founded in equity and inclusivity
- Ensure our research and education programs support access to integrative medicine to diverse populations
- Share resources with like-minded partners to reduce duplication of efforts and contain costs
- Focus on continuous improvement through ongoing assessments with responsive programmatic adjustments to improve outcomes
- Preserve and respect the integrity of the unique medical disciplines that make up integrative medicine
- Partner with an inclusive array of stakeholders, including individuals, familie and communities, our Northwestern healthcare system and academic home, biomedical and complementary medicine providers and national organizations to achieve optimal health outcomes and results
- Build integrated approaches to facilitate collaboration within our Osher-NU program and the larger Osher Collaborative so that the programs can provide the best support to meet the needs of the populations we serve
