Obstetrics and Gynecology PSTP
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology offers a diverse array of research opportunities for resident trainees. Although the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology does not have a formal Physician Scientist Training Program at this time, all trainees have access to a comprehensive Resident Research Program. Opportunities for research are available during all four years of residency and are integrated with resources across the institution.

Candidates with an MD/PhD or an MD with extensive research experience who are interested in a career in academic obstetrics and gynecology are encouraged to contact the residency program for further details about physician-scientist training opportunities. Fellows with an interest in a career as a physician-scientist are encouraged to contact individual fellowship programs regarding research training opportunities.

Research Training
As academic obstetricians and gynecologists, research is a fundamental part of our departmental mission. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is invested in basic, clinical and public health research efforts that improve the health of women. Our faculty members are actively engaged in a diverse portfolio of research and welcome trainees at all levels to participate in women’s health research. We hope that all trainees will emerge with the skills and training needed to engage in academic research at the highest levels, and we welcome inquiries about specific research career pathways.
