Cooking Up Health: Train the Trainer Workshop
The Culinary Medicine Course: Cooking Up Health is an elective for health professional students developed by faculty from the Osher Center for Integrative Health at Northwestern University in partnership with the non-profit community organization Common Threads. Our Cooking Up Health course is intended to expand students’ comfort in counseling patients in successful behavior change around nutrition and cooking, as well as develop skills for personal well-being.
To help promote dissemination of culinary medicine to other institutions, the Osher Center and Common Threads have now partnered to host a Train-the-Trainer workshop, where prospective schools and organizations can learn the process of implementation, needed steps for success and acquire the existing curriculum for use in their own institution. Our inaugural workshop in 2018 taught faculty from eight new institutions. More information and registration information available here.
The training program is intended for faculty from health professional schools (including but not limited to medical, nursing, physician assistant, physical therapy, complementary/integrative health profession schools).
Visit the training site for details and schedules or contact teachers@commonthreads.org for more information.
