Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine's brand and visual identity is Northwestern Medicine.
Northwestern Medicine represents Feinberg and Northwestern Memorial HealthCare. Northwestern Medicine is a growing, nationally recognized health system that provides world-class care in communities throughout the Chicago area. It encompasses more than 200 Northwestern Memorial Healthcare locations, including 11 hospitals and the medical school. Together, we are pushing boundaries in our research labs, training the next generation of physicians and scientists and relentlessly pursuing better patient care.
Feinberg Resources
The Office of Communications provides resources to express Feinberg's visual identity within the Northwestern Medicine brand. Those in the Feinberg community can log into the medical school's SharePoint using your NetID to access our medical school brand materials, including Feinberg-specific brand guidelines, templates and design resources. Access requests will only be approved if affiliated with a Feinberg northwestern.edu email account.

For permanent signage for spaces such as lobbies, doors or reception areas, signs require approval from Feinberg Facilities.
Building Our Brand
Our brand is the singular way of expressing our identity that encompasses all parts of our system and all the work we do. Having a single identity enables us to clearly and consistently help others understand who we are and how we have come together. It is essential that our constituents understand that Northwestern Medicine is one organization and that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
Consistent branding offers benefits to our Feinberg units, as well:
- Reduces workload and time commitment for staff tasked with maintaining a Feinberg unit brand presence.
- Allows campus units to directly benefit from strategic and marketing experience at the school level. It is not realistic to expect that each unit would have the expertise and ability to effectively manage separate brands.
- Reduces cost through coordinated activities. In a marketplace of highly fragmented media, the cost of reaching fragmented audiences is much higher and difficult to justify.
- Confirms credibility as part of a larger, unified brand. We are stronger when we speak as one.
- Creates collective ability to successfully shape and manage one core brand over time. We are all responsible for building the strongest possible Northwestern Medicine brand.
