Sally C. Edelsberg, PT, MS, FAPTA, Director of Programs in physical therapy at Northwestern University from 1972 to 1999. Throughout her career, Sally demonstrated superior leadership in the physical therapy profession. She is particularly noted for education leadership and was dedicated to the goal of providing students with the opportunity for an education in physical therapy at Northwestern, regardless of financial circumstances.

Sally's contributions and service to the PT profession are impressive. Sally was former Illinois PT Association President 1973-1977; she served in the APTA House of Delegates 1970-1975 and APTA Board of Directors 1975-1982; Sally served on the World Confederation for Physical Therapy as Vice President in 1995. She received the Lucy Blair Service Award from the APTA in 1983, and Fellow of the APTA (FAPTA) in… In 1972, Sally was the first recipient of the Margaret Kohli Award for Outstanding Alumni Contributions to the Physical Therapy Profession by the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Physical Therapy Program. Sally is a graduate of UW.

Sally first practiced at Hines Hospital VA in Chicago, and then was Program Director of Health Careers Council of Illinois. Sally joined the physical therapy faculty at Northwestern University, first as a graduate student (she received a MS in Education and Administration in 1972) and later as faculty. She was a part-time instructor and clinical coordinator in NU Programs in Physical Therapy in 1970 and quickly advanced to Acting Educational Administrator, and Director and Associate by 1975.
