This laboratory’s research goals are to provide individuals with upper extremity impairment and dysfunction after stroke with accessible and effective rehabilitation services, and to enhance the adoption of best practices in physical therapy.

Two focus areas of research:

  • the development and validation of clinical assessments for telehealth services to improve the continuity of care and participation in clinical research
  • the development of clinical interventions using novel rehabilitation devices that allow individuals who have had a stroke to improve functional use of their arm and hand.

Current Project:

  • Telehealth Assessment of Upper Extremity Impairment and Function in Individuals with Stroke: The goal of this research study is to provide individuals with upper extremity (UE) impairment and dysfunction after stroke with accessible and effective rehabilitation services via telehealth. This study aims to validate cost-effective OMs that can be administered via telehealth to individuals with stroke to evaluate arm impairment, function, and activity limitations.
