Research
Gifts from generous supporters are often the catalysts that allow medical research at Feinberg to flourish. Our donors support dedicated scientists whose novel and collaborative studies promise to advance scientific and medical knowledge.
Charitable commitments provide research funding for projects in basic science, translational (“bench-to-bedside”), and clinical research. Funding opportunities include:
- “Idea” grants to support scientists pursuing exciting areas of research that have not yet captured the attention and research support of the federal granting agencies or “bridge” funding to established investigators who need to continue their studies despite diminished support from the National Institutes of Health.
- Equipment and technology purchases or upgrades to foster and enhance the efforts of our investigators. This might include support for core facilities that provide specialized research services that are otherwise affordable or practical in the laboratories of individual investigators.
- Funding for laboratory, education, and patient-centered spaces that enable us to pursue our education and research missions, create a sense of community, and recruit and retain the best and brightest.
- Named spaces in our new Louis A. Simpson and Kimberly K. Querrey Biomedical Research Center.
