  • Hobbies: Working out, singing, musical theatre, and trying out new restaurants!
  • PT area of interest: Not entirely sure, but at the moment I am most interested in ortho or pediatrics!
  • Fun fact: I am a former Team USA competitive cup stacker!
  • Why you chose NU DPT: I could immediately sense the amount of respect the institution and faculty had for the profession, and I felt it was the best place for me to become the most competent future clinician. The proximity to home and location in a great city is a plus!

  • Hobbies: I enjoy running, playing basketball and football, and hiking.
  • PT Area of Interest: I am undecided but interested in orthopedics, sports, and pediatrics.

  • Why I chose NU DPT: I chose Northwestern because of the large and diverse class, the incredible resources and hospitals, the outstanding faculty and staff, and the unique challenges and experiences I would face living in a big city like Chicago.

  • Hobbies: I love painting and doing artistic projects. I also enjoy baking, working out, traveling, and trying new restaurants.
  • PT area of interest: I am currently interested in sports and pelvic health.
  • Fun fact: I have traveled to over 20 countries with my family!
  • Why you chose NU DPT: I chose NUPT because of the resources and diversity of opportunities. The faculty provides many different perspectives, and I believe they are committed to the students' success. Alumni are also heavily involved in the coursework, providing students with much-needed mentorship.

  • Why you chose NU DPT: I chose NU DPT because I felt so welcomed and supported by the faculty, and the opportunity to pursue my Masters in Public Health in the DPT-MPH dual degree program.

  • Undergrad institution: Washington University in St. Louis
  • Hobbies: Baking, crocheting, weight lifting, trying new restaurants in the city, and spending time with my dog.
  • PT area of interest: I am interested in geriatric and neurological PT and hope to work with individuals with neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’s Disease or Multiple Sclerosis.
  • Fun Fact: I am the youngest of four siblings and all of our names start with the letter R.
  • Why you chose NU DPT: I chose NUPT because I was excited by all of the opportunities offered by NUPT and the resources available to students during and after our time in the program. I was also drawn to Northwestern’s emphasis on research and the opportunity for students to get involved in labs and studies.

  • Hobbies: I enjoy spending time with friends and family, being outside, cooking, reading, exercising, and exploring Chicago!
  • PT area of interest: I am open to all areas but am currently interested in learning more about neurologic and orthopedic PT.
  • Fun fact: I have ridden the steepest zipline in the world on the island of Sint Maarten!
  • Why you chose NU DPT: I chose NUPT because of the program's rigor, reputation, and community. I could immediately sense the strong connections between faculty and students and knew I wanted to learn to be a Doctor of Physical Therapy in such an outstanding and personable environment. I also wanted to live in a big city while staying close to Lake Michigan, so Chicago was the perfect opportunity for this!

  • Undergrad institution: University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
  • Hobbies: I love to lift and workout, going to concerts, trying new coffee shops, and I’ve been getting into reading recently!
  • PT area of interest: My biggest interests at the moment are pediatrics, neuro (especially neurodegenerative conditions), wound & lymphedema. But, I’m open exploring any area.
  • Fun fact: I almost got cast in Pirates of the Caribbean as a kid.
  • Why you chose NU DPT: The amount of support, diversity, and emphasis on learning over getting good grades stuck out to me. I appreciate how large of a community NU has between the faculty, staff, students, alumni, and clinics/hospitals like Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. It allows for a ton of opportunities and perspectives to learn from. All the faculty and staff are not only extremely knowledgeable in their area of expertise, but they truly want all of us to succeed. I felt that NU was the best place for me to push my abilities to become a great therapist. I also love that NU is located in the heart of Chicago! While the schoolwork is vigorous, being in such an amazing city makes it enjoyable.

  • Hobbies: Cooking, watching movies, cleaning, learning and exploring new experiences, and traveling.
  • PT area of interest: geriatrics, or sports medicine, but I am still exploring throughout my learning journey.
  • Fun fact: I speak a second language, which is a Nigerian language called “Yoruba”.
  • Why I chose NU DPT: The resources Northwestern University provides for their DPT students is what drawn me the most. Furthermore, the dual degree program with DPT/MPH also solidified my choice.

  • PT area of interest: Inpatient neurology, but keeping an open mind!
  • Fun fact: I love cooking and I make my own pickles! 
  • Why I chose NU DPT: I chose NU DPT because of the endless, unique opportunities that NU presents! All of our faculty either currently are practicing PT’s or used to be practicing PT’s, we work with clinicians at neighboring hospitals every day, the large class size allows for great discussions from multiple perspectives, the opportunity to be involved in the newest innovative research, the large alumni network, and being in the city of Chicago!

  • PT area of interest: Pediatric, Sports, Neurology
  • Fun fact: I have lived in over 5 different countries!
  • Why you chose NU DPT: I chose NUPT for its extensive student support, strong emphasis on research, and commitment to clinical education. Northwestern offers opportunities to work and volunteer at renowned hospitals like Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and Lurie Children’s Hospital. Moreover, as a graduate student, I value the city's vibrant energy; our downtown Chicago campus is just 15 minutes from Lake Michigan, allowing us to enjoy its beauty during lunch breaks. Additionally, the faculty are incredibly inclusive and attentive, prioritizing student needs within and outside the program.

  • Hobbies: I love dancing, biking, binging TV shows, cooking, and reading!
  • PT Area of Interest: Performing Arts, Pediatrics, Pelvic Health & Neurology (especially interested in Multiple Sclerosis)
  • Fun Fact: I have been to all 50 states! I’m happy to give any recommendations :)
  • Why I chose NU DPT: Northwestern is located at the heart of downtown Chicago. I was drawn to the big city life (with access to nature - aka Lake Michigan and the Lakefront trail), where the city's culture supports its healthcare professionals. I especially love Chicago’s culture of food, music, sports, and arts. Additionally, Northwestern was proactive in making me feel wanted, heard, and supported in my graduate pursuits. Since starting my 1st year at NU, I have been surrounded by genuine compassion and support from the faculty and peers. NU reminded me of my purpose to help and serve others through healthcare!
