Understanding Room Rates

The Learning Space team (part of FSM IT) supports all AV technologies in teaching and learning spaces and conference room spaces on the FSM campus. This same team also consults (in conjunction with NUIT) with you on room upgrades, repairs, and enhancements. Units and departments pay an annual rate per room based on the type of room and the support level.

Levels of Support

Effective FY25, two levels of support are available for most rooms:

Level 1 – Designed for important rooms that play a critical role in the day-to-day running of a department or unit. Response times are immediate when systems are down. Training is available as needed. Rooms are checked weekly. Up to 3 department administrators can be added to the Learning Space support Teams channel. Phone support is also available. 

Level 2 – For lower traffic spaces where response time for repairs or support are needed in 24 hours. Units may add up to 2 department administrators to the Learning Space support Teams channel. Phone support is also available.

Units and departments are contacted at least once a year (usually in late spring or early summer) to confirm their rooms and rates. Billing for the FY usually happens in July or August (at the end of the fiscal year).
