How does CyberArk EPM work?
When you initiate a software installation, software upgrade, or system configuration change CyberArk EPM will reference a curated list of commonly used software and activities which can be installed or run without the need to enter administrator credentials. Which devices are eligible to use CyberArk EPM?
Any Feinberg-owned desktop or laptop running Windows 10+ or MacOS 12+ that requires elevated privileges for a valid business need such as installing or updating research software that is not available for download/update through self-service.
Will CyberArk EPM be installed automatically?
Feinberg IT recognizes that not all devices in use have the need for elevated privileges. Therefore only devices with local administrative privileges will automatically receive CyberArk EPM.
How do I know CyberArk EPM is installed and running on my computer?
When the CyberArk EPM app is installed, the CyberArk EPM icon (a blue, cubed letter C) will appear in the status bar or menu bar of your computer.
What if I have devices connected to lab equipment or in a conference room?
CyberArk EPM will not be installed on devices connected to lab equipment, kiosk devices, or conference room devices.
What if I use a personally owned computer?
CyberArk EPM will not be installed on personally owned computers.
What if I use a Northwestern Medicine, Lurie Children’s Hospital or Shirley Ryan AbilityLab computer?
CyberArk EPM will not be installed on computers belonging to Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago or Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
Will this affect my phone or tablet?
No, CyberArk EPM will not be installed on mobile devices.
I currently have local admin rights on my Feinberg-owned device. What changes for me?
Current local admin rights on existing devices will remain unaffected during the CyberArk EPM software implementation. Feinberg IT will regularly assess the configuration of CyberArk EPM to ensure it aligns with the needs of faculty and staff.
What software will CyberArk EPM allow me to install or update?
