Latin Honors
Graduating students will be considered for the following Latin Honors as an additional measure of distinction. These designations will be approved by the Executive Committee and the faculty in the spring, prior to graduation.
- Magna Cum Laude in Scientia Experimentali
For students academically in the top half of the class who complete an additional degree at the time of receiving an MD degree and also publish, or have accepted manuscripts, as part of their thesis before graduation - Cum Laude in Scientia Experimentali
For students academically in the top half of the class who complete an additional degree at the time of receiving an MD degree or who spend a full, intensive fifth year in a research laboratory - Summa Cum Laude
For students academically ranked in the top 5 percent of their graduating class - Magna Cum Laude
For students academically ranked in the top 6-10 percent of their graduating class - Cum Laude
For students academically ranked in the top 11-15 percent of their graduating class
